Rogue Stats

I'm a lvl 23 rogue and am doing quests in Europe. I am now "getting into the game" and would like input on the stats i should build for maximum rogue effectiveness. It sounds like dexterity is important so have been looking for equipment that does that. Thanks!

Strenght and Dexterity. They allow you to kill things fast as a Rogue and Dexterity has secondary uses, such as parry, dodge, accuracy and it enhances Walk in Shadows.

Try to keep a good ratio between the two, but don't neglect your Constituion!

Usually it's better to have higher Strenght than Dexterity though.

Now go stab something and steal their stuff.

My personal order of importance:

1. Constitution influences your health and health regeneration. Obviously very important.

2. Dexterity influences your dodge, parry, and hit percentages.

3. Strength influences physical damage.

4. Spirit influences healing spells and health regeneration. This is important for all classes, as tanking revolves around self-healing.

5. Psyche influences magic damage and will regeneration. Only worry about this if you use magic attacks (there are none besides Death's Touch on the Rogue tree).

My actual stats are pretty close to this order:

I tend to completely ignore armor rating on eq and only focus on stat increases.

How exactly does Dexterity affect Walk in Shadows?

EDIT: I edited this immediately after posting it, hence the difference between this post and the quoted post below.

Death's tocuh isn't Magic IMO. It's only a atack buff for your Physical attacks. So a Rogue really has no use for Psyche, unless you really want to pretend you're an elemental Ninja like Sub Zero or Scorpion.

Though your Consittuion and Spirit focused build seems good for survival, I still would put Spirit at 4th place of importance. With that Constituion and then adding more Strenght and Dexterity, you'll be able to finish a lot of fights with lots of HP left.

Well, you might not have the fastest murdering machine, but you do seem to be able to last longer than others.

Oh, with better Dexterity, the bar despletes less as you walk around when Walk in Shadows is active. So you cover more distance with less stopping than with lower Dexterity.

Just make sure you have plenty of constitution, because at the moment, stats do so little that you wouldn't even notice 10pts to strength or dexterity

It does Death damage, so I assume it's affected by Psyche. Couldn't say for sure. I tend to use a lot of magic attacks myself while waiting for Might to regen, and my Malice Blast often does more damage than my Backstab with full charges.

Didn't know that, cool.

I edited my post immediately after I posted it, and actually did put Spirit 4th. Pretty crazy imo.

DT damage is affected by dex. I've tested this out myself.

And the potency of Death's Touch is determined by your DEX anyway.

Don't let people get tricked into thinking that going pure con over everything else is a good idea. And at higher levels, each piece of equipment ends up having at least ten points to a stat. Big difference when you stack every piece together!

Spi is probably the best example of a stat where every point is beneficial and even critical. What good is extra con when you're soloing an epic that even slightly outpaces your heals? Late in the game you're taking over 200 damage (18+ con) per hit. Being able to take one, two, or even three more hits is no benefit in a game where potions have a cooldown.

As for Dex, even traditional rogues in a party will perform less well with lower skill damage, so it should be first. For grinding, Str is good because it increases automelee damage (for everyone, not just rogues).

Con is third on my list of stats to work on for grinding, even though most armor has it already. It's only there so that I don't have to cast heals as often.

There is significantly less con on my solo gear, but that doesn't stop me from being able to solo every epic in the game except one.
