Beastal Chronicles: The Races and their histories

This thread is for the development of the history of individual races. We can already see that the Ursines, for instance, have a rich history, given their constant battles with forces dark and terrible. However, the Lore has focusedon races only when they were signifigant players. That is to say, if a specific race did something noteworthy enough, then they were mentioned at that time. Outside of then, however, we know next to nothing of the races and their histories as individual species. That is what this thread is intended to change.

The Races: This list will be updated as more details are gathered and speculated.

Anura:

Frog-people made by the Mystarchs.

Atavian:

Formerly imperial bird-people.

Banicoon:

Forest-dwelling racoon-people.

Bounder:

Hare-people driven from Emerald Island.

Broccan:

Highland-dwelling badger-people.

Caprican:

Stubborn mountain goat-people.

Clockwork:

Robots made by now-dead humans.

Cyclops:

Fae race abandoned by their brethren.

Daemon:

Freed slaves of the demons.

Fangren:

Noble military wolf-people.

Feline:

Endangered refugee cat-people.

Foxen:

East-patrolling fox-people

Grumkin:

Defecting group of the people of the Skull.

Hart:

Noble and just deer-people.

Lisian:

Migrant scretive lizard-people.

Longtail:

Nomadic and manipulative rat-people.

Noctari:

Wise and learned owl-people.

Sylvan:

Born of the trees.

Taurian:

Strng hunters and cow-people.

Tusken:

Silent boar-people driven from their kingdom.

Ursine:

Ancient warrior bear-people.

Yeti:

Scedded from mountain-dwellig brethren.

Please, post your theories and speculations.

The Clockwork were made by the Mystarch Heraclitus. The humans--specifically, Archimedes and his family--only maintained them under Heraclitus' behest.

Thoughts on the Clockwork:

The descriptions says they were made by Archimedes. However, the guy died back before robotics really bagan, and he wasn't so much a machine builder as an inventor. And truly, the description of the Clockwork suggests that they are, in fact, a heck of a lot more complicated then anything the Greeks ever built.

I propose an alternate thery.

The Archimedes Company (or Coorporation or Factory or what have you) was in its time the lead producer of robots and related machinery. Like many such groups, they had many differant types of machines they made. The Clockwork, however, were not one of their leading lines; they were, in fact, toys, to be modified as a quick and fun intro to robotics (or maybe not). A similar concept exists in the real-world Wowwee RoboSapien...

Anyway, somewhere along the line, humans do the big boom.

So in come the Beasts, who by all accounts were not mechanicaly minded. This wasn't becuase they were stupid, or anything like that. It's more due to them trying to live "in tune" with nature, as opposed to humanity's general rush for technological agchievment. Ironically, it's because the Clockwork were toys that they proved to be such a big help. All the other machines produced by the mysterious Archimedes (human records are scarce) are simply too complex to operate or even understand. But these things, they can be made to do some pretty nifty stuff, like build walls and plant farms, although they have to be closely monitered.

Then Gaia sees how the Clockwork are being so very usful, notes their almost alive anyway, remembers the Anura, and says "hey, I did this before, why not do it again?" POOF! New race.

Nice idea, but I prefer the histroy that already exists.

This Earth isn't our Earth afterall and had a very different history and so likely a different technological progression.

How many times am I going to have to say this: HUMAN HISTORY IS INCLUDED IN THE LORE. Age of Man, right there. And I quote: "Though we do not truly understand what the culture of Man was like, fragments of his writings have survived." It's not that big a leap to say that the Beasts thought Arcimedes was jus one person when it was actually a group of people (albeit, one named after just one person). Please, please, PLEASE stop dismissing speculation as nothing; it really annoys me.

Read this please, it's the official story and it's much better.

As Pooncha said, they were made by a Beast Mystarch, not a human.
