We need your feedback! Today we're going to be talking a bit about the new player experience. As you know, the first couple of levels are extremely important, not only do we have to teach new players how to play but we also have to make it interesting enough so that they want to stick around!

We would like to get your thoughts on the first few levels including Tutorial Island and Corsica. Please think back to your time spend from levels 1-5 (or better yet, start a new character) and answer the following questions. Feel free to include as much detail as you like!

not really - dabbled in Neverwinter but didn't get into it too much.

3) What did you think about the Character Creation process?

pretty cool.  occasionally frustrating with knowing which colours went where but mostly it was grand.

4) Was there any time you felt confused or did not know where to go next?
a little confused about how combat worked initially, but it was fine.

5) Did you experience any technical difficulties during the first few levels?
some freezing and rubberbanding.

6) Did you find the user interface (menus, hotkey buttons, controls) accessible and understandable?

yeah, mostly.  took me the longest time to figure out the hotkeys, and i had to look elsewhere to figure out how to use the chat (e.g. disable, ), but the main game controls were clear and mostly intuitive.

7) What were some of the things you liked about the first couple of levels?
great colours, great introduction

8) What were some of the things you liked about the newbie experience?
friendly-looking game, very welcoming.

9) What were some of the things you disliked?
seemed to take a long time to get between places i needed to go!

10) Is there anything else you would like to tell us about your newbie experience?
obviously good enough that i stuck around :)

2) Have you played an MMORPG before Earth Eternal?

Yep: Entropia Universe, Runescape, Maple Story... And a fair few others I can't remember off the top of my head.

3) What did you think about the Character Creation process?

Liked the simplicity of it & the range of races; personally wasn't so keen on some of the differences between the male/female character models (I didn't think the some of the female models looked nearly as cool as the male ones but that's just a minor point really).

4) Was there any time you felt confused or did not know where to go next?

Nope

5) Did you experience any technical difficulties during the first few levels?

A bit of rubberbanding on Corsica.

6) Did you find the user interface (menus, hotkey buttons, controls) accessible and understandable?

For the most part, yes - the chat features aren't massively well explained in game.

7) What were some of the things you liked about the first couple of levels?

You got to do things straight away! (i.e. there wasn't too much tedious tutorial stuff)

8) What were some of the things you liked about the newbie experience?

I remember being particularly impressed by the graphics when I first got in game.

9) What were some of the things you disliked?

As spook said above, it seemed to take quite a long time to get between quest giver and objective and I remember being frustrated at going from one newbie island to another (Corsica) then another (Earthrise) before finally getting to the 'main' world.

10) Is there anything else you would like to tell us about your newbie experience?

I recommended this game to a friend (who is, admittedly, not the most patient of people but is a fairly keen mmorpg player) who liked the look of the game but was instantly frustrated by the glitching/rubberbanding/low fps and hasn't played the game since... =/

4, once with each class.

Yes, 3 actually.

3) What did you think about the Character Creation process?

Well, as many choices as we got, the colors seem a bit limited to an extent. For example, some of the "defualt" colors are not available on the custom spectrum and despite we can make ridiclous combinations, some colors seem to be completely missing at times. Such as you can't get completely white paws or hands, just some "light grey-ish."

4) Was there any time you felt confused or did not know where to go next?

On Corsica or Earthrise? Not really, just have to keep your eyes peeled for those Anubian captains at Earthend.

5) Did you experience any technical difficulties during the first few levels?

Apart from the regualr lagging and glitching that is still in game, nope.

6) Did you find the user interface (menus, hotkey buttons, controls) accessible and understandable?

Yes, very. Though commands you need to put inot the chatbox such as emotes, especially dances, can be tedious. A clickable menu for them would be good.

7) What were some of the things you liked about the first couple of levels?

Well, perhaps that you can try out any ability and respec for no cost or penalty. Most RPG's won't let you just go back like that at all or without a price tag, no matter of your level.

8) What were some of the things you liked about the newbie experience?

Can't really say anything exceptinoal here... Probobly how easily accessible the game is and quick to learn.

9) What were some of the things you disliked?

The lag and loading, mostly.

10) Is there anything else you would like to tell us about your newbie experience?

Many confuse Earthrise and even Corsica as the "main world" of the game. It should be made clear from the start that they are not.

2) Ive played Runescape before

3) It was simple and there were a lot of choices

4) Felt a little confused on the Will, Might, Physical Charges, and Magical Charges

5) Not that i can recall

6) As said by Zaxian, the chat features weren't very well explained.

7) I liked the simplicity of the quests.

8) The environment of corisca was pretty good for me as a newbie.

9) Nothinh really stands out too much.

10) Maybe make the npcs level a bit lower, its probably just me, but those lvl 45 npcs were intemidating =/

    Never

   Lots of choices and it was fun

 I thought it was pretty self explanitory

It still takes me a couple of tries to get into the game itself.

Yes

 Leveling up was fun

Everyone was so nice and welcoming

Finding my way around the first time was a bit confusing

I am a retired person and I just love this game.  I really enjoy playing this! 

1. Yes, but I usually get over it quickly.

2. 2. Both held my attention for about a week.

3. Way above average. I really enjoyed it.

4. Somewhat, although you quickly learn how to get around.

5. Nope.

6. Took me a few minutes, but I got it down now.

7. The quests were so well designed I barely noticed when they got harder.

8. Players were willing to go out of their way to help me out and I really appreciated that.

9. Travel time between quests. That's about it.

 When I started the game it was very bland, but by the time I quit the game I saw a newer version of it and it was very much improved.

 I didn't know why there were those question marks on the side of my screen (the ones that you click and tell you some info.). So from that alone I didn't know of very much to do.

 Nope.

 Easy, abundance of quests. I guess I learned the game as I went along.

 I don't like being a newbie.

 When I was doing the quests, I really didn't know what was going on (i.e. why I was killing so and so or collecting whatever). I know it's your choice to read rather then blindly click accept, maybe make it a bit more necessary....?

10) Is there anything else you would like to tell us about your newbie experience?

 Hmm, maybe too short and easy.

YEs, I started on runescape but that got old, EU was fun but you had to pay to do anything decent.

was good, I would there where more options and stuff to make the body shape more custamizable and more things to choose from like scars patterns of masks and sutch on all species. and better looking fatter models hehe.

 YEs, my first time though I didn't quite grasp that you could look more more quests in other sections, and I was a real newb. it took me about 2 days and over an hour and a friend to help me figure out how to talk to the shroomie on mushroom idle. mind you I obviously didn't have a clue and didn't read the text. Pretty sad hehe.

nothing I can remeber. other than doeing more times than I will admit hehe.

once I figured out what evrythign did it is easy to remember.

 that they where geared twared newbs like I was and it was easy to find out what to do.

learning new things, leveling up and sutch. making new frineds.

only think I dislike is theres no way to get any of the old armour and drops from earthrise and corsica. thats all I dislike =}

 It was very good I thought, very usefull and player around help fill in any questions to.
